by his spirit
When faced with a challenge, in what or in whom, do you place your trust?
Thus the work on the house of God in Jerusalem came to a standstill until the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia.
- Ezra 4:24
Now Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the prophet, a descendant of Iddo, prophesied to the Jews in Judah and Jerusalem in the name of the God of Israel, who was over them. Then Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Joshua son of Jozadak set to work to rebuild the house of God in Jerusalem. And the prophets of God were with them, supporting them.
- Ezra 5:1-2
So he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.
Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit.
The hope for the world is a Spirit-empowered Church that proclaims Christ.
Come Holy Spirit.
We need to learn a consistent dependency upon the Holy Spirit in our daily lives.
“What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of ‘God bless it! God bless it!’”
- Zechariah 4:7
Then the word of the Lord came to me: 9 “The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this temple; his hands will also complete it. Then you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent - Zechariah 4:8-9
“Who dares despise the day of small things, since the seven eyes of the Lord that range throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone in the hand of Zerubbabel?”
- Zechariah 4:10
You need the power of the Holy Spirit in your every day life.
Be filled with the Spirit.
Ephesians 5:18b
2. You can have the power of the Holy Spirit to help fulfill your calling and purpose.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses” Acts 1:8
3. You can ask today that he would give you the power of the Holy Spirit.
“…how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
Luke 11:13b
