Our CLASSROOMS

Our team of leaders and volunteers partner with parents to host our youngest attendees in a safe, lively, and engaging environment tailored to their specific ages. While the grown-ups relax and enjoy “big-church,” the children explore God’s character and His love for us through a scripture-centered curriculum, age-appropriate activities and crafts, worship, prayer, and the opportunity to meet and play with their peers.

  • Kids! Foundations Program welcomes babies aged 6 months to kindergarteners. Our babies and toddlers experience God’s love through play, music, and the attentive care of our wonderful volunteer team. As the children progress to pre-school at age 3, they begin to have a short Bible story, a memory verse, prayer time, and an organized craft. These activities are all very short to accommodate their developmental stage, and there is still a large portion of time devoted to playing together. In our pre-k ( 4 and 5 year olds who have not yet entered kindergarten), and kindergarten classes the story time gradually becomes longer, the craft and activities a bit more involved, but there is still focused time to develop friendships among the children.

  • Kids! Younger Elementary Program welcomes 1st and 2nd graders. Programming for this age group includes learning to use their Bibles, exploring Biblical narrative, worship, and prayer. There is a story review activity, an application or memory verse activity, one or two discussion questions depending upon the group, a craft, and fellowship time. This fellowship time is an important component of their time at church. They no longer transition classes based on age, they now move through the program based on grade. Therefore, the relationships they make in kindergarten will continue to be their cohort during their time in HTC Kids. The groups are segmented into 1st & 2nd girls, and 1st & 2nd boys.

  • Kids! Upper Elementary Program welcomes 3rd through 5th graders. These groups include more historical and geographical context with the biblical narrative. Both groups (3rd and 4th graders, and 5th graders) explore scriptural narrative by reading it together in group. The 3rd and 4th graders still have a memory verse, worship, and a craft or an activity, but they now spend more of their group time focused on the theological application of the stories to their lives through greater discussion.

The 5th grade group uses an inductive approach to exploring scripture. They are given the opportunity to consider and discuss the Who When Where and What of the stories, imagine themselves in the narratives, and discover the timeless truth within God’s word. Rather than crafts and games, this group thrives in their lively discussion and practical application of God’s truth in their lives.
