Our vision is to love and bless those in need – people near HTC, people in the DC metro area, and people in the rest of the world.
We're people loving people
At HTC, we aim to be a blessing to those in need, especially the poor and the destitute. We want to share the gospel with more than words, and we believe meeting the needs of others is an important part of our mission to demonstrate God’s love to everyone we encounter.
We want to be counter-cultural, engaging with the marginalized and ostracized. We believe we grow closer to Jesus when we serve the hurting and the hopeless.

Helping Children Worldwide
Helping Children Worldwide is strengthening communities in Sierra Leone, one of the poorest countries in the world, by providing vulnerable children and their families with opportunities for education, health care, and spiritual mentoring.
The programs at the Child Rescue Centre and Mercy Hospital are especially focused on education, family stability, maternal and infant mortality, and childhood malnutrition. By partnering with local government and child advocacy organizations in Sierra Leone, we help children and families achieve their wonderful, God-given potential.
Compassion International is focused on the individual child and his or her development. We are unashamedly and singularly focused on developing children.
Each child we serve is ministered to personally, and each church partner we work with tailors its programs to meet the specific needs of the children in its community.
Embracing children is at the heart of who we are. We are advocates for children in poverty. And we commit to developing minds, bodies and spirits — in Jesus’ name.
After the event of hurricane Matthew you may be wondering about your sponsored child. It is not possible to connect with them immediately but you are welcome to donate to Compassion International’s relief efforts via this link
