Our Vision

Our vision is to love and bless those in need – people near HTC, people in the DC metro area, and people in the rest of the world.

Here's an example of what we do

We partner with Community Outreach Inc. to coordinate the event

Our church community provides the funds that pay for food and materials

We pack meals as a church after a Sunday morning worship service

Our last food packing event provided 30,000 meals that went to veterans in need

Acts 1:8

We're people loving people

At HTC, we aim to be a blessing to those in need, especially the poor and the destitute. We want to share the gospel with more than words, and we believe meeting the needs of others is an important part of our mission to demonstrate God’s love to everyone we encounter.

We want to be counter-cultural, engaging with the marginalized and ostracized. We believe we grow closer to Jesus when we serve the hurting and the hopeless.

IJM Sunday

Join us on September 24 for a Sunday Service dedicated to prayer and giving towards the anti-human trafficking work that International Justice Mission (IJM) is doing. Jesse Rudy of IJM will be joining us to talk about the work of IJM globally as well as locally.

IJM is a global organization that protects the poor from violence throughout the developing world. IJM partners with local authorities to rescue victims of violence, bring criminals to justice, restore survivors, and strengthen justice systems.

They combat slavery, sex trafficking, property grabbing, police abuse of power and sexual violence in nearly 20 communities throughout Africa, Latin America and South and Southeast Asia. Their vision is to rescue thousands, protect millions and prove that justice for the poor is possible.

Releasing Children from poverty in Jesus' name

Compassion International

Compassion International is focused on the individual child and his or her development. We are unashamedly and singularly focused on developing children.

Each child we serve is ministered to personally, and each church partner we work with tailors its programs to meet the specific needs of the children in its community.

Embracing children is at the heart of who we are. We are advocates for children in poverty. And we commit to developing minds, bodies and spirits — in Jesus’ name.

After the event of hurricane Matthew you may be wondering about your sponsored child. It is not possible to connect with them immediately but you are welcome to donate to Compassion International’s relief efforts via this link
